What value does HPRC bring to your organization?
HPRC is a great organization for us to broaden and deepen our relationships across the healthcare value chain. We value ourselves as development partners to our customers, helping during product design, product approval, manufacturing, regulatory approval, testing.
That’s who we are and we love the relationships that we’re able to make as part of this organization.
What do you see as the biggest hurdle in healthcare plastics recycling? How is HPRC working to overcome it?
One of the challenges with plastics recycling is scale.
And so you think about it, a curbside plastic, there’s a lot of it, but when you narrow the scope to just hospitals, there’s less just straight up volume, but then there’s also less of it that’s not in patient contact. So recycling at that small scale is a challenge.
What we liked about this project is, is, is it’s looking at ways to address that problem and look at volume outside of just the hospital setting.
We’re able to use HPRC as an organization to work with other members, really understand what the opportunity is and how we could put together different capabilities to solve that problem.
